For businesses

Your trading chart, under your own brand.

TradeCanvas is MIT licensed. Put it in a commercial product, change it, host it yourself: your customers see your brand, and your data stays on your servers.

Free, for any use

  • No logo on the chart

Nothing from TradeCanvas is drawn on the chart or in the widget. The MIT license asks only that its text stays with the code.

  • Nothing sent anywhere

The library has no telemetry. It opens a connection only through a data adapter you start: one of the built-in exchange feeds, or your own.

  • No application, no approval

npm install, and every capability in the system audit is yours, the order book ladder, depth chart and heatmap included.

  • The whole source

Read it, fix it, fork it. MIT asks nothing of your own code: it stays yours and stays closed if you want it so.

Ready for an IT review

What a security or vendor review usually asks, and where to check each answer.

  • No third-party runtime dependencies: the chart package depends only on TradeCanvas’s own core and commons.Source ↗
  • No eval and no new Function, so it runs under a Content Security Policy without unsafe-eval.
  • The widget adds one <style> element, so its pages need style-src 'unsafe-inline'; the headless Chart adds none.Source ↗
  • Security problems are reported privately and answered within a week.Source ↗
  • Every pull request is built, type-checked and tested in CI: more than 3,000 unit tests.Source ↗
  • Releases are published by GitHub Actions from the repository, not from a developer’s machine.Source ↗
  • Chrome 80+, Firefox 80+, Safari 14+ and Edge 80+.Source ↗
  • The license: MIT, one page.Source ↗

Your data, your servers

The chart draws the bars, ticks and orders you hand it. Connect your own backend with a DataAdapter, or a WebSocketAdapter given a URL, a history function and a message parser; orders go out through an execution adapter of yours. The Realtime and Trading docs show how.

Questions

Do we have to show the TradeCanvas name or logo?

No. Keep the license text with the code, as it already is in node_modules; nothing has to appear on screen.

Do we have to publish our own code?

No. MIT puts no conditions on the code around it.

Could the license change under us?

Every version already released is MIT and stays MIT: the license of a published release cannot be taken back.
